Triathlon is a unique and highly rewarding challenge of swimming, cycling and running, one after the other and of vastly varying distances and terrain
Combining these elements into one event provides a dynamic & engaging recipe for interesting training and a competitive spectacle on race days
It is one thing being a good swimmer, cyclist or runner, but what about when you have to do all three directly after each other without a rest?
It can be challenging for sure, so my aim is to find the fastest but most efficient way to take on each aspect whilst making sure you are ready for the next part of the race. This means approaching each discipline slightly differently than if you were doing each one as an independent sport
Trisutto follow this approach with fantastic results which is why I became Coaching Certified to learn how the best in the world train for Triathlon
The swim can often leave people feeling like fish out of water...
...however with the right coaching and by keeping things simple yet effective, it's an area where coached athletes have seen enormous progress. They go faster whilst using less effort and therefore are better able to perform once they get on the bike
The focus is to build fitness and strength...
...whilst preserving what muscles we rely on for the running section. The turbo trainer is a good friend of ours here so athletes can get their head down and push those gears in safety, focus and with confidence. If you like to get a sweat on, you have come to the right place
The final stretch
Where the only thing between you and the finish line is your two legs. We do a lot of work on running form and efficiency to try to ensure all of our energy is used in the best way. And if you have looked after them well and fuelled your body enough, they will get you to finish line with purpose and your coach will be eagerly awaiting to congratulate you!
